The 5 Instruments That are Worth Learning How to Play

Musical instruments have been part of our lives for many years. The greatest musicians and artists to have ever lived played one musical instrument or another. They used the instruments to help them compose masterpieces that people still enjoy many years after. Learning how to play an instrument does not necessarily mean that you want to be a musician. It can simply be a way of expressing your artistry or a way to help you relax. You do not have to go to school in order to learn how to play the instruments. You could teach yourself, though learning with a teacher is much faster.

Below is a list of 5 Instruments that are worth learning how to play. Learning how to play them takes dedication and interest. They are also very enjoyable.

1. The guitar.

  • It is probably on the most popular musical instruments today.
  • Mainly made from wood and strung with either steel or nylon strings that are usually six in number.
  • The guitar is mainly used as a solo instrument and is played using the fingerpicking technique.
  • It can be incorporated in almost all forms of music genres and this makes it a very good choice to go for.
  • For people who are very artistic they should learn it since it is very melodic.

2. The saxophone.

  • This is an instrument that has always been associated with romance and passion and is thus a very good choice for the romantic people out there.
  • It is used to mainly make Jazz because of its distinct sound.
  • Almost all bands have someone playing the saxophone so you should learn how to play it if you want to join a band.
  • It is mainly used in blending the woodwinds and brass since it acts as the middle section there.
  • Usually large but is relatively light and requires a lot of blowing.

3. Drums

  • Most people consider them to be very basic and easy to play which is not totally true.
  • A lot of skill and practice goes in to learning how to play them.
  • The player’s hand or drumsticks are the ones used to produce the sound.
  • They are the world’s oldest musical instruments and yet their design has remained unchanged for years.
  • You should learn to play them since they can be played in very many different places and during various occasions.

4. The piano.

  • It is very often associated with class.
  • Very many music schools offer piano classes.
  • It is very easy to learn if you are good with your fingers.
  • Most people find the piano more fun compared to other musical instruments.
  • It is mainly used for compositions, rehearsals and performances.

5. The flute.

  • It produces a very gentle sound that is soothing to the soul.
  • Easy to learn so long as you practise a lot.
  • This instrument is mainly suited for the sensual type of people.
  • Flute players are usually in high demand hence making it an instrument worth learning.
  • If you can play the flute impressing others with your skills will be very easy.
